-Roush Racing teammate Jeff Burton won the Winston Select 500, Mark finished 7th.

-Terry Labonte had the most wins with 10.
-Jeff Gordon had the 2nd most with 7.

-Mark Martin had the 2nd most with 4.
-Terry Labonte had the 3rd most with 3.
-Rusty Wallace, Jimmy Spencer, Bobby Labonte, and Jeff Gordon all tied for 4th most with 2 poles each.
-And as a standout Pole Winner: Craftsman Truck Series driver Ron Hornaday Jr. won the pole for the 2nd Martinsville race (92.969 mph), securing himself a spot in the 1997 Busch Clash
-Ron ended up finishing 7th in that race.
27 of the 60 drivers recorded a Top-5 finish.
-Terry Labonte, Dale Earnhardt, and Jeff Gordon all had 20 Top-5's each
-Mark Martin had 17.

42 of the 60 drivers recorded a Top-10 finish.
-Dale Earnhardt had the most with 26.

-Champion Dale Earnhardt only had one, coming at the spring Bristol race, finishing 36th after winning the pole.
Dale Earnhardt had the best Starting and Finishing Position average with 5.16 and 6.61 respectively.
Terry Labonte won the most Bonus Points with 39.
-Dale Earnhardt and Jeff Gordon both had 34.
Terry Labonte ran the most laps at 4,578 (98.6%) and led the most laps with 1,208 (26.02%)
1. Terry Labonte holds off teammate Jeff Gordon to win his 10th race of my 1996 Season in the Dura Lube 500 in Phoenix.
2. However, Dale Earnhardt clinches a record 8th Winston Cup Championship with a 4th place finish, leaving with a 46-point lead over Terry Labonte. Like Labonte in the real '96 season, consistency pays off.
Finally, the Season Standings.
