Well, Junior did lead a couple laps in the real race, coming home 8th. Not to mention he also won the 1999 race there.

Earnhardt dominated the first half of the race until Kevin Lepage led a race-high 101 laps en route to finishing 3rd. MYRTLE BEACH, SC(AP)- Dale Earnhardt, Jr. has been on fire during the 4-race Cupless stretch, winning at Watkins Glen, Milwaukee, and now Myrtle Beach. From the getgo, Little E has been the fastest thing on 4 wheels, posting the fastest time in both practice sessions, setting on pole position, and leading a race-high 169 laps. With this win, Earnhardt extends his point lead to 74 points over Matt Kenseth, 81 points over Kevin Lepage, and 89 points over Todd Bodine, who once again was not at the track. Earlier today, Ron Barfield, Jr. won the Craftsman Truck Series race at Nazareth and made the trip to Myrtle Beach to run the #2 Chevrolet. Barfield qualified 24th and ended up 3rd being the first car one lap down. FONTANA, CA(AP)- What Tony Raines did on Saturday, Dale Jr. did on Sunday as Little E passed Kevin Lepage going into turn one on the final lap of the Kenwood Home & Car Audio 300 at California Speedway and never looked back as Earnhardt is now 82 points ahead of Kevin Lepage and Matt Kenseth, seeming to run away with this championship chase after 19 races on the Busch Grand National schedule. Kevin Lepage and Todd Bodine dominated most of the middle portion of the event, leading a combined 114 of the 150 laps run, coming home second and third respectively. Polesitter Dick Trickle wound up 15th, the first car off the lead lap after only being able to lead the first lap.
