I'm looking for some NASCAR game that EA did, and leave the question.
Activision games are better or are the EA NASCAR games?

Activision is a complete joke, the games look good but play horribly. EA did it right up until 2007, I always find myself coming back to the Nascar Thunder series as they had pleasant eye candy, a great control scheme, a unique way to unlock content, a stellar career mode from N2005 onward, and some pretty neat fantasy tracks as well as nighttime options for day tracks like Talladega, Dover, Sonoma, and Watkins Glen.

Yes. I have NASCAR The Game: Inside Line and consider almost wasted money because the game is very arcade and not have lower series, like Busch and Truck Series.

NTG11 and IL are wastes of money.
I would recommend 06 for the original Xbox. It can be played on the 360, and has excellent career modes, all three series, fictional tracks, and create-a-car.

I've personally never played any of Activision's NASCAR games, but that hasn't stopped me from wondering what NASCAR was thinking when they allowed a British company (Eutechnyx) to develop NASCAR games. If you ask me, I'd say that the problem with today's NASCAR games has nothing to do with Eutechnyx being a horrible game developer or anything like that. I think NASCAR's mistake was giving video game development rights to a company that's not American.
If you're gonna develop video games about NASCAR, the developer should be someone residing in the same country that the sport grew up in, where everyone has a good idea about what to do and what not to do. So since EA is mostly American, they were able to get close enough to the necessary resources and make awesome-quality games. On the other hand, Eutechnyx is stationed in the UK. And since NASCAR's not as familiar in Great Britain as it is in America, it likely severely limited Eutechnyx's ability to gather the information needed for a top-notch game. As a result, all three of their games suffer quite a bit in the quality department. I know Eutechnyx has enjoyed having the NASCAR license the past couple years, but I think they've been working too hard to make the games as true to NASCAR as possible, thus resulting in games that look great but don't play the same way.
To sum it up, a good NASCAR video game needs to be developed by an American company that can easily access the perfect resources and be trusted to not try too hard to make a good game and buzzkill everything as a result. Eutechnyx loses the NASCAR license next year, right? Well, once they do lose the license, it should either go back to EA or be given to another American company that can be trusted to make a wonderful game (Like 2K Sports). I've heard some people say that the license should go to Codemasters, but I think they should just stick to Formula 1 and not risk overwhelming themselves with two different racing leagues.
I'm sure not everyone here will agree with all of this, but hopefully I got all my points across to you all.

I agree to almost everything thunder98 said, accept in my opinion the top 3 career modes where: 1. NT 2004 (I usually race legend on NTG IL, but even rookie in this game is a struggle. Only bad thing is no lower series) 2. NT 2002 (Fun to play, but disappointing if you get to much momentum for more than 5 races, than everyone is falling on their knees to give you a contract. No lower series as well.) 3. Nascar 06: TTC (Ok, but never presents or comes close to the struggle to the top in 04. Great paint scheme selection, lower series, the complete package if you want lower series.)
I haven't really played Nascar 03 much, probably less than 50 races. Every other nascar game aside from Nascar 14 I have 200+ races on. 05 would rank 4th on this list, they made the lower series in this one to easy. 07 is waaaaayyyyy to easy to make your way to the top. 08 is just awful. Way to twitchy cars, just do yourself a favor and don't buy it. 09 is when you can tell EA knew they were leaving. Not good, but nowhere near the horrors of 08. 09 is the better xbox 360 game. However, 06 IS compatable with the 360. I have one so I know it works. It's just slower than the one on the original xbox. NTG 11 and NTG IL suck. Enough said.

The game I loved by EA Sports was NASCAR SimRacing. It had all the series, and all the tracks the 3 tiers went to. It was an awesome game, the AI was awesome, and I'd recommend you play it if you can find the disk.

Thank all for reply.
I created this topic because I thought two NASCAR games on the internet for sale ('14, priced at $44 and 08 priced at $22) and then I thought of all the bugs that had the first and the "age" of the second. Hence preferred to bring the discussion over here.

I loved playing Thunder 2004, the AI was so good and the detail and just fun. But I would say my favorite was 06 Total Team Control. I would play that game for hours on my Xbox, oddly enough I prefer PlayStation over Xbox, but when playing 06 I liked it better on Xbox. The Fight to the Top was so fun and I would always skip playing the cup and stuck to the Busch, Trucks and Whelen Series. Dirt to Daytona was fun as well.
Now racing online that is different, I joined back when NASCAR 09 was still playable online and man was that fun, I was also lucky enough to win the last ever race before EA shut down the servers. 2011 was fun despite all the bugs and I just can't play 2011, Inside Line or '14, too many trolls and people wrecking you so I just gave up on that.

I only played 01 and 05 but from what I have heard from other people, it seems like most people preferred NASCAR Thunder 03 and 04.
