CAT renews sponsorship of Bill Davis Racing Bill Davis Racing and Caterpillar, Inc. announced this afternoon that the machinery company will extend its partnership with BDR through the 2009 season. CAT has sponsored the team since 1999, including Ward Burton's victory in the 2002 Daytona 500. CAT also served as sponsor for Scott Wimmer's 3-year tenure from 2004-2006, and has continued this season with rookie Aric Almirola as BDR switched to Toyota. The influx of cash from the Japanese manufacturer has BDR hopeful of improved results, as the team has struggled to consistently place in the top 25. "It's with great pleasure that I announce that our partnership with Bill Davis Racing will continue through 2009. We know that many NASCAR fans have dual-interests in machinery and construction-related area, so the partnership is beneficial for both parties," said Caterpillar, Inc. CEO Jim Owens. Almirola is only signed for one-year, but the team will look to expand to two full-time cars for 2008 when the COT is introduced. After 2 races in 2007, Almirola ranks 27th in the point standings. Uh...CAT started sponsoring the 22 in 1999, not 2002. Just wanted to point that out.

"On behalf of Bill Davis Racing, we're proud to have signed an extension with CAT. They've been a huge part of our organization for the past eight years, and we look forward to continuing this great partnership."

No sweat man! I've only been these boards a few days, but I'm sure enjoying my time here! Though I'm probably the first person on these boards who doesn't own NR2003 (The closest thing I have is the demo, which I downloaded a while ago, and I'll be getting NR2002 in the mail soon).

NR2002.....God I remember that game. I spent countless hours playing that game when I should have been doing homework haha. While it may not have the support NR2003 has, I personally think that it beats NR2003 in some aspects, especially graphic/FPS wise. Have fun with NR2002 when you get it!

After watching a YouTube video comparing the graphics of NR2002 and NR2003 (and NR4, which I found at my local Goodwill this past May), I can say that the graphics in 02 are much brighter than in 03, and brightness in graphics is always a good thing.
Back on topic, I'm excited for CAT & BDR's extended future. Best of luck to them!
