Best Buy signs deal with Evernham to sponsor Kahne Evernham Motorsports announced this morning that electronics retailer Best Buy has signed a deal to sponsor Kasey Kahne through the 2010 season. Kahne, the 2004 Rookie of the Year, has struggled tremendously since his sterling freshman season, earning 2 top 5s and 4 top 10s in 2005 and none of either category since. His drop in performance has aligned with the struggles of the Evernham organization as whole, as the 3-car team has floundered in recent years. The struggles have prompted many garage area insiders to speculate that Evernham will look to change manufacturers, with Ford reportedly the #1 suitor at the moment. Northern Tools & Equipment, which has sponsored Kahne the last two seasons, has not indicated whether it will return in a partial role with the team. "I'm really excited to partner with Best Buy. I do tons of shopping there, and I'm really looking forward to making appearances and representing a company that I love," said Kahne. Best Buy has sponsored Mike Bliss and the Haas CNC team since 2005, but will move on with Kahne. Both Kahne and Best Buy's contracts with Evernham will run through the 2010 season.
