2008 Season Outlook
Jeff Gordon is back for his 16th full-time season in the #24 DuPont Chevy for Hendrick Motorsports, looking to erase a concerning trend. Since 2004, Gordon has finished outside of the top 5 in points for 3 consecutive years - something that has never happened before. Also concerning is that in 2005 and this past season, he scored just 14 top 10 finishes, after marking 10 consecutive years from 1995-2004 in which he had at least 20 top 10s. Gordon clearly still has it, however, having made the Chase this past season with 3 victories. Gordon fans have reason to worry, but with Hendrick equipment, it's almost inevitable that he'll be in Chase contention. At this point in his career, Gordon is still a lock for a win, and he's not going anywhere for several years.
