2008 Season Outlook
For many of the top-tier NASCAR drivers, their third full-time season is the one in which they break out. For Brian Vickers, that wasn't the case. Instead, it was his fourth season. Vickers entered 2007 without a top 15 points finish, and promptly dominated the regular season, building a tremendous points lead and earning his first career win at Phoenix in the process. Unfortunately for Vickers, his Chase left much to be desired, as he dropped to 7th in the final tally, but he still racked up 2 wins and a series-leading 23 top 10s. That consistency projects Vickers to be at the top of the series for a long time, and he will absolutely be a championship threat in 2008. When Rick Hendrick resigned him to a long-term deal after 2006, many were skeptical of whether or not Vickers would be a bust, but he is proving those doubters wrong.
