2008 Season Outlook
Michael Waltrip will again contend full-time in the Sprint Cup Series, marking the 23rd season in which he has done so. It will once again be in the #55 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota for the race team that he owns, though he will have a new crew chief in Bobby Kennedy. Waltrip, despite qualifying for every race in 2007, saw his fair share of struggles in the season, earning just 2 top 10s in 36 races and struggling to 35th in the point standings. It's hard to predict a regression for Waltrip, who was one of the worst-performing full-time drivers in the Series last year. There's just nowhere worse he could get. With Joe Gibbs Racing joining Toyota, the notebook should be more in-depth, and that will likely help all Toyota teams across the board.
