2008 Season Outlook
Stanton Barrett has added a second car to its roster for the 4 restrictor-plate events of 2008, the #59 car. Chris Fontaine will drive it at the Daytona 500 and at the October Talladega event, while Keven Wood will take the Spring Talladega race and Norm Benning will compete at the Coke Zero 400. Fontaine and Wood are complete newcomers to the Cup Series, while Benning has limited experience. Despite that inexperience, Barrett was able to land funding for each race thanks to Unilever Brands, so the pressure will be on these three drivers to compete. Unfortunately for them, SBR has never shown promise and continually struggled to qualify last season. Expect these guys to struggle to even make the races, let alone compete in them.
