2008 Season Outlook
Johnny Sauter enters 2008 looking to build upon finally completing his first full-time season with MB2 Motorsports. He had intended on running full-time with RCR in 2004 but was booted before the end of the season and made just 16 starts, and failed to qualify several times in both 2005 and 2006, making just 40 of the 72 races. He hadn't ever finished higher than 36th in the standings, but MB2 believed he had promise and just needed a steady opportunity to develop it, and gave him the #78 seat. He took full advantage of that opportunity, racking up 7 top 10s on the way to an 18th place finish in the standings. With no changes planned for 2008, expect Sauter to build on that foundation and challenge for a top 15 position. He hasn't shown enough potential to make the Chase, but MB2 has done it before, so he's certainly got at least a longshot chance.
