2008 Season Outlook
Many NASCAR fans have heard Matt Crafton's name before, but despite his notoriety as a good driver, he's never competed in a single Cup Series or Nationwide Series event. Crafton has competed solely in the now-shuttered Truck Series, and he will only be competing in the Nationwide Series this year because that Truck Series is now obsolete. Crafton will pilot the #13 Menard's Toyota for the full schedule in 2008 for his Truck team ThorSport Racing. Crafton has 172 career Truck races, and though he doesn't have a win, he's earned 13 top 5s and 76 top 10s, while earning 3 top 10 points finishes and never finishing outside of the top 15. He's a very knowledgeable driver who can take care of his equipment, and likely won't see the growing pains most Nationwide Series rookies deal with. Because of that, and his team's status as a well-known NASCAR organization, the #13 team should perform well. The biggest obstacle for them will be qualifying for early-season races with no points provisional backing them.
