2008 Season Outlook
1991 Nationwide Champion Bobby Labonte is back for more in 2008, as he will command the #18 Z-Line Designs Toyota fielded by Joe Gibbs Racing for 12 out of 36 races. Labonte's primary role on the team, however, will be to serve as a mentor for the up-and-coming drivers that will be featured in the #18 Toyota. Brad Coleman and Kevin Conway will each appear in 10 races throughout the season, while Canadian Jacques Villeneuve will make his NASCAR debut at Mexico and drive all 4 road course races for the team. Coleman drove 17 races this past season after an impressive 2006 ARCA campaign with 8 top 5s in 19 starts, and while his schedule has been trimmed due to sponsor demands, he will certainly make the most of his opportunity with more seat time. Conway, meanwhile, has competed in 4 different NNS seasons but never for more than 7 races. His lack of experience makes his expectations very hard to pinpoint. On the same token, Villeneuve has very little track time in a NNS car, but expectations for him will be high. The former F1 driver has a tremendous ability on road courses, and with top-notch JGR equipment under him, he should be a threat to win each of his 4 races.
