2008 Season Outlook
The #20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota features a trio of relatively inexperienced drivers. Third-year Cup driver J.J. Yeley is the most recognizable name, but he will drive for only 14 races as he still searches for his first Nationwide and Cup Series victory. The bulk of the schedule will actually be driven by newcomer Chad McCumbee. McCumbee, a Truck driver for the past two seasons, impressed J.D. Gibbs by winning 2 of his 5 ARCA Series starts enough to earn a development driver contract. He'll drive the GameStop Toyota for nearly half the season, at 17 races. The third driver, while inexperienced, is the most promising and most intriguing. Dubbed "The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread" by none other than Mark Martin, 17-year old Joey Logano signed with JGR this past season to a development deal that starts with 5 races in the second half of this season. He'll debut as an 18-year old at the September Dover race after dominating everything he touched last season. He won the K&N East championship with 10 top 10s in 13 races, and won one of the two races he ran in the K&N West Series. His ceiling is potentially unlimited, so it's not unreasonable to expect him to be solid right off the bat along with the entire #20 JGR team.
