Race #6 - Dixie Cup 200
The NASCAR Busch Grand National Series made their 6th stop of the 1984 season in Darlington, South Carolina, the site of the Darlington Raceway for the Dixie Cup 200.
Tommy Houston led the field to the Green Flag but it was Sam Ard who would lead the first lap before he was passed by Geoffrey Bodine as the track nicknamed as "The Track Too Tough To Tame" turned out to be a pretty clam event with only three cautions flying during the whole day. Bodine would lead 76 of the 147 laps but was passed late by Ron Bouchard who looked to be on his way to his first ever NASCAR Busch Grand National Series win.

Race #7 - Mason Day Paving 200
The NASCAR Busch Grand National Series made their 7th stop of the 1984 season in Rougemont, North Carolina, the site of the Orange County Speedway for the Mason Day Paving 200.
Eddie Falk led the field to the Green Flag but it would be Robert Ingram who would lead the first three laps as the 0.375 mile short track proved to once again be one of the most unpredictable race of the season. When a caution came out with less then forty to go, drivers made their last stop and a battle was started.
Sam Ard would lose the lead quickly to Charlie Luck before he lost it to Jeff Hensley before swapping the lead again. Jeff Hensley was able to take advantage of two late cautions during the last ten laps and was able to hold on to score his first ever win in the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series.
