Race #1
The IROC Series made their 1st stop of 1984 at the Michigan International Speedway, in Brooklyn, Michigan.
For the first time in four years the IROC Series ran a race after funding was hard to find. CART star Emerson Fittipaldi led the field to the Green Flag but it was defending race winner Dale Earnhardt who would take the lead in Turn 2 but by the time drivers raced around the two mile track, Gordon Johncock had taken the lead. Johncock would swap the lead with Danny Ongais around with twenty laps to go but would take it back and appeared well on his way to scoring the win at Michigan, but luck wasn't on his side.
After taking the white flag, Johncock's closest challenger was Dale Earnhardt and going into Turn 4, Johncock's car wiggled before going to the high side, having run out of gas. Dale Earnhardt was able to work his way past on the low lane and would go on to score the win.
Other Noticeables:
Dale Earnhardt scored his 1st win of the year,
Earnhardt led 1 time for 1 lap, which was the final lap,
It was the 2nd win of his career in the IROC Series and his first since 1980 also at Michigan; 5 races ago,
Derek Bell, who finished 11th, made his IROC Series debut,
Dale Earnhardt, who finished 1st, is the points leader, leading Gordon Johncock by 1 point

To keep things fair with actual IROC rules, the starting lineup for the second race will be the finishing order of the 1st race but inverted.

Race #2
The IROC Series made their 2nd stop of 1984 at the Burke Lakefront Airport, in Cleveland, Ohio.
For the first time in IROC Series history, drivers raced at the Burke Lakefront Airport, Benny Parsons would lead the field to the Green Flag, but it would be fellow NASCAR star Cale Yarborough who would make a three wide move in Turn 1, who would take the lead and go on to lead the first lap. Three cautions in the first twenty laps would keep the field close as Yarborough would be on defense each lap as his lead would grow, and using his past road experience, Yarborough would go on to score his first IROC Series win in nearly seven years.
Other Noticeables:
Cale Yarborough scored his 1st win of the year,
Yarborough led 1 time for 30 laps, which was every single lap,
It was the 3rd win of his career in the IROC Series and his first since 1977 at Riverside; 16 races ago,

The IROC Series made their 3rd stop of 1984 at the Alabama International Motor Speedway, in Talladega, Alabama.
For the first time in IROC Series history, drivers raced at the Alabama International Motor Speedway, Tom Sneva would lead the field to the Green Flag, NASCAR star Darrell Waltrip who would lead the first lap. Cale Yarborough would quickly pass Waltrip and would lead for the next ten laps as the fans in attendance were given a great shot as battles for the lead happened nearly every lap as seven of the twelve drivers would lead atleast one lap, breaking the old record that was six that had been in place since 1978.
With no cautions coming out, all twelve drivers would stay hooked up into one group as Cale Yarborough would be leading as the field took the white but by the time the field had gotten to Turn 3, he had lost the lead and Darrell Waltrip would take the lead in the tri-oval and would hold on for his first ever IROC Series win.

Darrell Waltrip scored his 1st win of the year,
Waltrip led 4 times for 6 laps, including the final lap,
It was the 1st win of his career in the IROC Series in his 11th start,
