Race #10 - Copa Mexico 150
The CART Series made their 10th stop of 1981 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, in Mexico City, Mexico, for the Copa Mexico 150.
Al Unser led the field to the Green Flag and would quickly jump out to a second lead as all twenty seven drivers gave each other room for the most part on the two and a half mile road course. Gordon Johncock would pass Unser for the lead on Lap 20 and aside from losing the lead for two laps during pit stops, Johncock was unstoppable, but with thirteen laps to go, Johncock lost control of his car and spun out in Turn 1, knocking himself out of the race. With Johncock out, Rick Mears assumed the lead and had to hold off a hard charging Al Unser and Bill Alsup to score his third win of 1981.

Bobby Unser won the pole, with a time of 32.040 seconds, beating Tom Sneva by 0.060 seconds.

Race #11 - Miller High Life 150
The CART Series made their 11th and final stop of 1981 at the Phoenix International Raceway, in Avondale, Phoenix, for the Miller High Life 150.
Bobby Unser led the field to the Green Flag and would quickly jump out to a big lead early on as no one had anything for Unser until he was forced to give up the lead to Gordon Johncock before quickly taking it back after pit stops and appeared on his way to victory when a caution for debris comes out. When the green flag comes back out, Unser pulled away but right behind him was Dick Ferguson who passed Unser with eighteen laps to go and would go on to score his first career win.
Other Noticeables: Dick Ferguson scored his 1st win of the year, Ferguson led 1 time for 18 laps, which were the final 18 laps, It was the 1st win of his career in the CART Series in his 12th start
