Race #11The NASCAR Grand National Series made their 11th stop of 1951 at the Columbia Speedway, in Cayce, South Carolina. Herb Thomas led the field to the green flag and would quickly begin to build up a lead around the half mile dirt track in front of a crowd of 7,750 fans as Thomas's Plymouth would keep all challenges behind him for the first quarter of the race before being challenged as Buck Baker, Jimmy Ayers and Bill Blair would all have their time in the lead, with Blair having the car to beat on the long runs, holding a nearly ten second lead a one point before the race's final caution came out. When the green flag came back out after pit stops, Blair had to come back down due to his crew not getting all the lug nuts on, knocking Blair out of contention as Thomas would reassume the lead, leading for the next five laps before he was passed by Frank Mundy, who looked like he would go on to score the win. Race #12The NASCAR Grand National Series made their 12th stop of 1951 at the Dayton Speedway, in Dayton, Ohio.
