2007 Food City 500Late News: Ronnie Wilson replaces Zander Nunez in the #56, but the team failed to make the race regardless. Nate Beasley receives new Crew Chief. SGR Racing will not attempt Bristol. Hendrick Motorsports, after scoring three poles in a row (all with Kyle Rudd), miss the pole this week, as Sarah Cooper and Marco Montoya (#42) are on the front row. Kyle Rudd will be looking to make up places after qualifying 35th. Favorites: Chris England (#11), despite no top 10's this year has 3 wins at Bristol and is starting towards the front and looks to pick up a win. Alex Parker has three wins at Bristol as well, but starts back in 19th. Hannah Tanner has to be mentioned, as she's won two of the first three races this year. Dale Stremme Jr. and Peter Hale are both solid picks as well. Dark horse pick of the week is Chad Little Jr. Despite having never won at Bristol, the #88 is generally fast on the shorter tracks. DNQs: 14 - Ricky Benton 56 - Ronnie Wilson 83 - Ty Majeski Overview: Race #: 4/36 Distance: 100 Laps Polesitter: Sarah Cooper - Team: TriStar-Evernham Motorsports Lap 1: Sarah Cooper gets the field underway, leading Marco Montoya, Hannah Tanner, Carson Atkins, and Dale Stremme Jr. into turn 1. Lap 3: Montoya took the lead on lap 1 and is pulling away from Atkins. Stremme Jr., Tanner, and Cooper have all dropped out of the top 5 already. Rookies are performing good so far - 2nd and 4th (Carson Atkins and Anna Kelley respectively). Also, Denny Jennings in the #23 pulls it onto pit road with minor damage. Lap 12: The top 6 have caught lapped traffic, battles now taking place as Montoya tries to find his way around the lapped cars as fast as possible. Lap 21: Chris England passes Marco Montoya and finally clears the first lapped cars. Anna Kelley and Hannah Tanner are 2nd and 3rd. Lap 21: Anna Kelley turns Denny Jennings (#23). This is the second incident Jennings has been involved in today. No caution. Lap 23: And now the caution is out - Katie Durhamm (#40) and Dale Stremme Jr. tangle while battling for 8th. Neither driver suffers any damage, apart from bruised egos. Lap 29: Green flag is back out, during green flag pitstops, Hannah Tanner was able to pass Chris England for the lead. They are followed by Atkins, Alice Peters, and Chad Little Jr. Lap 29: Caution out again - Frankie Parkins in the #74 gets booted out of the way and hits Kevin Grant (#27). Lap 34: Green flag out again. Lap 44: Anna Kelley, running 2nd 15 laps ago has fallen back to 13th. Sarah Cooper has dropped 17 spots to 18th. Kyle Rudd, on the other hand, has gone from 35th -> 19th - a 16 position gain. In other words, Austin Bell pits after scraping the wall. Lap 56: A spinning Brian Sivia (#55) nearly takes out the #24. Lap 57: Huge game changer in the race - the leader pulling it down pit road with a sour engine - Tanner is out of the race. Lap 62: Green flag. Chris England resumes with the lead. Lap 64: What a crash filled Bristol race this has been. Nick Rodriguez (#16) gets spun into James Davidson (#10). Both of these drivers can't catch a break this season. Caution. Lap 84: Chris England has a 2 second lead on Alice Peters in 2nd. Lap 86: Yellow flag #5. Frankie Parkins (#74) spins off the bumper of Chad Little Jr... field getting set for a dash to the finish. Lap 92: Green flag. Lap 97: Chad Little Jr., Nate Beasley, and Carson Atkins have all passed Alice Peters, stuck behind lapped traffic. Lap 100: It's the big one at Bristol. A massive pileup coming out of turn 4. Caution flag is out. Lap 100: Chris England finally breaks out and wins his first race of the year - his fourth at Bristol and his 15th career win. Chad Little Jr. finishes 2nd, Nate Beasley climbs from 11th in the last few laps for a brilliant 3rd, and Carson Atkins and Alice Peters round out the top 5. Results: Thanks for tuning in. Points standings will be shown below. Next race: Circuit of the Americas

Points StandingsAfter Race 4: BristolHannah Tanner drops to 3rd in points. Alice Peters is having her best ever start to a season, sitting 2nd in the standings. Jeb Warson's disaster of a race drops him out of the Chase and back to 20th in points. Chris England's win now puts him 5th in points, and his bid for regular season champion is beginning to materialize. His teammates are struggling with their campaigns, with Luis Suarez and Peter Hale well off the pace in 11th and 16th respectively. With Circuit of the Americas next on the calender, expect Grant Dolson, Marco Montoya, and Luis Suarez to make substantial gains on the competition, as all three have been great at the road courses historically. Speaking of COTA, a host of road-ringers will be making their debuts next weekend, so the entry-list will look quite packed. Plenty of smaller teams may be in jeopardy of losing out to one of the one-off expansion teams. Also, the top 35 in points will be locked in after COTA.

2007 Circuit of the Americas RaceLate News: Road course ringers will make their debuts here at COTA. Chip Ganassi Racing and Indycar driver Scott Gaines will partner in the #39. The #56 is piloted by Carlos Contreros this week, and makes the field. F1 Drivers also will try their hand at NASCAR racing. Remi Arsenault will take over the #74 generally run by Frankie Parkins, and EagleOne Racing makes their debut with F1 driver Edda Jonsdottir running the #77. Favorites: Alex Parker is on pole here today, and generally the polesitter usually finishes extremely well in the races at Sonoma and Watkins Glen. Grant Dolson, Marco Montoya, and Luis Suarez, all expected to be top 5 runners qualified 7th, 8th, and 20th respectively. Team Penske locks out the 2nd row on the grid with Stremme Jr. in 3rd and Warson in 4th. Both drivers have tested here before - Warson has raced here. Dark horse pick is Scott Gaines. Despite only having run the road courses with Ganassi last season, he managed to qualify 2nd and could challenge for the 'win with the least number of starts' honor. DNQs: 23 - Denny Jennings 37 - Nicole Sadler -> ( F's in the chat, running 27th in points, not locked in to the field unfortunately) 87 - Josh Berry 89 - Sierra Green 97 - Tanner Berryhill Overview: Race #: 5/36 Distance: 12 Laps Polesitter: Alex Parker - Team: Hendrick Motorsports Lap 1: Alex Parker and Scott Gaines lead the way up the hill and into turn #1. Turn 1: There's a spinner, it's Kaitlyn Sauter in the #21, off the bumper of Stephanie Dillon in the #3. No damage to any car, no caution. More spinners. Lindsay Simmons (#72) spins off the back bumper of Anna Kelley, and both drivers spin. Now the caution flag is out - the field is reset. Lap 4: Alex Parker leads the field down to the green flag. Lap 5: Landon Amick gets hit by Kaitlyn Sauter and goes spinning into the grass. Rachel Bowyer (#4), Erin Keller (#38), and Andy Houston (#2) all recieve damage. It's also worth pointing out that Houston has had a mediocre start to the 2007 season - that car finished 3rd in points with Clint Johnson, and now will likely fall outside the top 20 in points if that team can't get further up the grid today. Lap 5: Keller, Houston, Sauter all in with damage. Sauter retires out of the race. Lap 6: Someone is facing the wrong way, and it's Nate Beasley in the #84, turned by Luis Suarez. Lap 8: Edda Jonsdottir runs way wide and loses a half-dozen spots from 24th to 30th. Lap 10: Not too much action, here's a cool picture of the midfield winding through the esses. Lap 11: Alex Parker has a 2.6 second lead over the #39 of Scott Gaines and is dominating. Lap 12: Alex Parker comes off the final turn and scores his first win of the year at Circuit of the Americas! The top 5 are all shown in this very nice shot - Scott Gaines holds off Dale Stremme Jr. for 2nd and 3rd each, while Jeb Warson and Peter Hale round out the top 5. Results: Thanks for tuning in. Standings will be posted with 24 hours. Next race: Las Vegas

Points StandingsAfter Race 5: Circuit of The AmericasAlex Parker's early consistency and win moves him half a race ahead of teammate Hannah Tanner. Four Hendrick Motorsports drivers are now in the top 10, with Nate Beasley, the only other Hendrick car, 29th in points, still struggling after several unlucky breaks through the year. Andy Houston drops 6 spots to 21st, while Jeb Warson rebounds from a DNF last week to pick up 6 spots in the standings to 14th. The top 35 rule is now in effect. Nicole Sadler missed COTA but is still in the top 35 in points and is locked in for the next race. Brian Silvia and Lindsay Simmons' cars both were inside the top 35 last year, and therefore locked in for the first 5 races, but they are both now outside the top 35 and are no longer locked in. Surprises so far: Grant Dolson is 8th in points and having a remarkable start to the year. In 5 races this year, he's scored 3 top 10s. He scored 6 in a full 36 race season last year. Despite winning back-to-back championships, Kyle Rudd is off to a slow start this year (10th in the standings), but has a win so he seems to be in a good position to make the Chase. Carson Atkins' back-to-back top 5's earlier this season shows that he could definitely be a contender for a win or two and maybe a Chase berth. A final interesting note, in 1 race, Scott Gaines has jumped to 39th in the standings, ahead of several full time drivers. There have been 50 drivers that have attempted races so far.

2007 Kobalt Tools 500Late News: Landon Amick (#32) crashes in practice and will go to the back of the grid for the race. The top 35 rule is now in effect - Erin Keller for Front Row Racing is the 35th place car. Travis Ruttman takes over for the #56, while Frankie Parkins is back in the #74. Ricky Benton and Ron Hornaday Inc. will make their first start of the year here at Las Vegas. Favorites: Kyle Rudd is a good pick - he has 6 wins at Las Vegas, more than every other driver combined (6 wins in 11 starts). Hannah Tanner has had a fast start and shouldn't be counted out as well. Alex Parker has two wins at Las Vegas and could contend. Peter Hale and Chris England have always generally been fast here. Dark horse pick(s) are two drivers, the drivers on the front row - Marco Montoya and Grant Dolson. Montoya has shown flashes of speed this year and could contend for the victory, while Dolson has been on a hot streak these past 5 races. DNQs: 56 - Travis Ruttman 57 - Daisy Green 83 - Ty Majeski 89 - Sierra Green Overview: Race #: 6/36 Distance: 54 Laps Polesitter: Marco Montoya - Team: Chip Ganassi Racing Lap 1: What an odd start to this race. Polesitter Marco Montoya pulls it down pit road. Kyle Rudd will lead the field down to the green. Unsure of what is wrong with Montoya. Lap 2: Caution! Montoya merged back onto track and got clipped by the #25 of Clint Johnson, and was then sent spinning into the back of the pack. The wreck takes out Montoya, Austin Bell (#30), and Lindsay Simmons (#72). Megan Murphy (#41), and Brian Silvia (#55) both have severe damage, but will limp around for the rest of the race. Lap 7: Restart. Rudd leads from Chris England and Steve Perry. Lap 8: Lapped down cars send Hannah Tanner from 9th to 31st in two laps. She'll have a hard time trying to rebound. Lap 9: Chris England passes Kyle Rudd for the lead. Rudd and Peter Hale in the #20 are side by side for 2nd. Lap 19: #11, #20, #2, #5, and #48 are your top 5. Andy Houston having his best run of the year currently in 3rd. Lap 26: Caution for debris off the #41 from the earlier wreck. Lap 31: Green Flag. Teammates England and Hale storm out to the lead with points leader Alex Parker trailing. Lap 32: Lapped cars really threw a wrench for some of the drivers outside the top 10 who got held up behind them. Lap 40: Sarah Cooper and Dale Stremme Jr. lead the charge for that second pack and have slowly reeled in the top 10. Lap 42: Chris England has a 0.6 second lead over Alex Parker, but the rest of the top 8 is right behind them. Lap 45: Things are getting interesting - a lapped car has now brought the top 3 of England, Parker, and Hale all nose to nose. Lap 48: Some of the leaders are struggling to get through lapped cars, that's allowed for this second pack from 4th-8th to catch up to within a second of the leader. Lap 54: Hale and Parker battle hard for second, side-by-side for the last 5 laps of the race, and that allows for Chris England to hold on and win at Las Vegas. This will be his 2nd win of the year and 16th career win. It also ties him for 5th on the all-time wins list with Dale Stremme Jr. Results: Thanks for tuning in. Standings will be updated in 24 hours. Next race: Texas

Points StandingsAfter Race 6: Las VegasAlex Parker's lead drops to 18 points over Chris England now, as Hannah Tanner tumbles from 2nd to 7th in points. Clint Johnson has adjusted well at Hendrick and is 3rd in points, while Dale Stremme Jr. for Penske sits 4th. Kyle Rudd has had arguably his worst start to a season ever - only 2 top 10s in 6 races is practically unheard of for the #48. Ross Evertson and Front Row Racing deserve a shoutout - they are having their best season thus far inside the top 15. The other Front Row car, however, is in 35th in points with Erin Keller, so it's a mixed bag for sure. Jeb Warson still mired further back in points than he would like to be, down in 16th. Other drivers struggling early are Nate Beasley (27th) and James Davidson (30th). Drivers who are doing considerably better than last season and/or are having good seasons compared to previous years include Alice Peters (5th), Grant Dolson (9th), and Carson Atkins (17th).

2007 Golden Corral 500
Late News: Ronnie Wilson will take over the #56 at Texas, yet fails to make the field. TriStar-Evernham Motorsports announces part time car, #91 with Tony Irwin Jr. Irwin will not attempt Texas, but future races in the season (Talladega is the only confirmed race). Favorites: Dale Stremme Jr. and Jeb Warson are both great choices here, Penske has generally been fast at Texas. Peter Hale has been a good choice, and has a win here. Alex Parker is a favorite, having won the race here two times. Kyle Rudd is also a solid pick. Dark horse pick is Landon Kaiser. The #9 had a phenomenal run at Las Vegas and looks to be on the up with a 2nd place qualifying effort. DNQs 56 - Ronnie Wilson 57 - Daisy Green 74 - Frankie Parkins Overview Race #: 7/36 Distance: 67 Laps Polesitter: Dale Stremme Jr. - Team: Team Penske Lap 1: Dale Stremme Jr. leads the field down to the green, and gets the early jump. Lap 10: It's a Penske 1-2. Kaiser, Kyle Rudd, and Grant Dolson are the top 5. Lap 13: Austin Bell (#30) blows an engine, and Rachel Bowyer (#4) and Brian Silvia (#55) hit each other trying to get past. Both have damage, no caution, however. Lap 15: Warson passes Stremme Jr. for the lead. Lap 17: A bizzare wreck in turn 1. Steve Perry in the #1 and Chris England (#11) get together. When England was coming back down the track, Kaitlyn Sauter (#21) and Alice Peters (#31) spin together to avoid him. Chris England comes back down the track and Sarah Cooper in the #7 rams into the back of him. Cooper, England, and Sauter join Austin Bell in the garage. Lap 22: Green Flag. Lap 22: Crash in turn 4. Chad Little Jr. (#88) and Zoe Sharp (#43) get together hard. James Davidson (#10) and Sierra Green (#89) make contact and spin. Sharp becomes the races 5th DNF. Lap 27: Green Flag. Dale Stremme Jr. who was running 2nd is now in 21st after a 6 second delay in his pitstop. Warson still in the lead, ahead of Grant Dolson and Chris Burton (#78). Lap 29: Sierra Green and James Davidson spin into the #16 of Nick Rodriguez. This is the second time this season that the 16 and 10 have gotten together (see Bristol). Rodriguez was noticeably disgusted with Davidson, as both times he has been on the receiving end of his mistakes. Davidson in the 10 pulls into pits and is out of the race. Lap 36: Warson now under fire from Grant Dolson. The two are nose to tail. Lap 42: Kyle Rudd's season continues to be underwhelming as he drops out of the top 10 from a pass from Katie Durhamm (#40). Lap 47: Rookie Allison Coyne with new sponsorship from John Deere has now cracked the top 10 and is leading the rookies. Her teammate, Nick Rodriguez comes in for a pitstop. He pitted a few laps earlier than everyone else, but still, green flag pit stops are coming soon. Lap 48: Green flag stops under way. Lap 50: Jeb Warson comes for his pit stop but was caught speeding! The leader makes a stop and go, handing the lead to Peter Hale. Lap 51: Steve Perry, Luis Suarez, Marco Montoya, Stephanie Dillon, and Katie Durhamm all have disastrous pit stops, shuffling up the running order drastically. Lap 53: Updated standings: 1. Peter Hale, 2. Alex Parker, 3. Grant Dolson, 4. Chris Burton, 5. Andy Houston, 6. Nicole Sadler... Sadler in 6th had a brilliant pit stop and has jumped from 19th to 6th. A lot of mistakes were made on pit road. Lap 58: Landon Kaiser, Kyle Rudd, and Hannah Tanner have passed Nicole Sadler for position. Anna Kelley has climbed to 10th. Lap 67: Peter Hale comes off the final turn and wins his first race of the season. Jeb Warson in the #22 is the first car one lap down. Hale beats out Parker for 2nd - Andy Houston, Chris Burton, and Landon Kaiser are the top 5. More cause for celebration - this is Hale's 20th career win. Results: Thanks for tuning in. Points will be updated within 24 hours. Next Race: Auto Club

Points Standings After Race 7: TexasStandings Alex Parker opens his lead by 20 points - now he is 38 ahead of 2004 Champion Chris Burton, who is quietly having an excellent start to the season. Alice Peters' dream start to a season has fallen back to reality, the #31 DNF's at Texas and falls to 10th in points. Chris England also falls from 2nd to 8th in points. Both Peters and England are on the Chase bubble, but England has 2 wins and would most likely clinch a wild card spot even if he were to fall out of the top 10. Rachel Bowyer and Josh Berry are tied for 35th in points - Berry and Bowyer also are tied with the best finish (each finished 19th once). Therefore, the nod is given based on which driver was higher in points before Texas. The honor goes to Josh Berry, and the #87 is guaranteed a spot for the next race. Good Surprises: Grant Dolson (7th), continues to show that the #47 could be a serious playoff contender. Ross Evertson (16th), despite 2 bad results, the #34 team already has 3 top 10's in only 7 races. Allison Coyne (25th). The owner-driver, despite being a rookie is showing talent - she's ahead of her extremely talented teammate, Nick Rodriguez. Granted, Rodriguez is 45 and has had a plethora of bad luck this season, but still. Bad Surprises: Kyle Rudd (9th). While he has slightly redeemed himself with a 9th at Texas, Rudd will need to earn consecutive top 10s to ease some of the concerns about a championship hangover. Jeb Warson (17th). The #22 team has become a staple top 8-10 team, however, bad luck has kept the #22 team further back in points than they would like to be. Megan Murphy (33rd) has flown under the radar and hasn't been talked about much, but the #41 team has been laughably bad this season. Bad finishes and wrecks have plagued the 3rd Ganassi car and threaten to put the team outside the top 35 in points.

2007 Auto Club 400Late News: Zander Nunez takes over the #56 this week and makes the show. Silly season is still a ways away, but the early rumor is that Hannah Tanner is in talks for a contract extension with Hendrick Motorsports. Favorites: No driver has dominated this track, every driver who has won here has only won one time. If anyone has a shot at winning their second race here, it'll be either Kyle Rudd, Alex Parker, or Hannah Tanner. All three Hendrick drivers have been fast here. As for a potential first time winner, Jeb Warson seems like a solid choice. Dark horse pick for this week is Alice Peters. After a DNF last race, she starts on the front row here and looking for her first win of the year. DNQs: 74 - Frankie Parkins 89 - Sierra Green Overview: Race #: 8/36 Distance: 40 Laps Polesitter: Jeb Warson - Team: Team Penske Lap 1: Green flag is out, Jeb Warson and Alice Peters lead the field down the straight. Lap 4: Caution flag is out - a pair of drivers spin from the main pack and down the front stretch. It's Josh Berry (#87) and Lindsay Simmons (#72). Minimal damage on both cars, but nothing serious. Lap 9: Green Flag is back out. Andy Houston (#2) passed Jeb Warson for the lead on Lap 3 and leads Warson, Hannah Tanner, Alice Peters, and Alex Parker. Lap 15: Alice Peters has a problem - the diagnosis is she's running on one less cylinder. The #31 has fallen from 4th -> 10th in the last 2 laps and is continuing to drop like a rock. Lap 16: Grant Dolson also having a similar problem - the #47 has dropped to 41st from 23rd on the restart. Lap 16: In other words, Jeb Warson retook the lead a few laps ago and is holding off Hannah Tanner and his teammate Dale Stremme Jr. Lap 20: Nicole Sadler is in for her pit stop. Green flag stops will be occurring shortly. Lap 21: Dale Stremme Jr. passes Warson for the lead of the race. Lap 23: The first wave of pit stops are taking place. Top 5 before pit stops: 1. Dale Stremme Jr., 2. Hannah Tanner, 3. Jeb Warson, 4. Kyle Rudd, 5. Peter Hale Lap 27: Green flag pit stops are over - top 5 after are: 1. Hannah Tanner, 2. Peter Hale, 3. Dale Stremme Jr., 4. Chad Little Jr., 5. Luis Suarez. Warson and Rudd are 6th and 7th respectively. Lap 30: New leader: Peter Hale passes Hannah Tanner in turn 2. Lap 32: Trouble for Jeb Warson. Loose left rear wheel! The #22 pulls into pits and will lose a lap. For a race that hasn't seen any retirements thus far, this is going to set Warson back to 42nd and dead last. Lap 35: Battle for 2nd is heating up. Hannah Tanner in 2nd is fading, Chad Little and Dale Stremme (3rd and 4th) are both slowly catching, while Alex Parker and Kyle Rudd (5th and 6th) are setting the best lap times on track. Peter Hale is pulling away. Lap 38: Rudd and Parker get by the three slower cars. It's a Hendrick 2-3-4 shown above. Lap 40: Peter Hale comes out of turn 4 and will score back-to-back wins this season - Hale wins at Auto Club. Rudd and Parker come up short in 2nd and 3rd, while Dale Stremme Jr. passes Chad Little Jr. for 4th and 5th respectively. Results: Thanks for tuning in. Points Standings will be updated within 24 hours. Next Race: Martinsville **May take a while, struggling to edit the files for this one.**

Points StandingsAfter Race 8: Auto ClubStandings The Good: Hannah Tanner's last few races have been good enough to move her back into 4th in the standings. Landon Kaiser has been on the upswing, this week the #9 jumps from 19th -> 14th in points. Kaiser was 22nd just 3 races ago. Austin Bell jumps from 37th -> 35th in points, scoring his first top 15 of the year. Staglo, Bell and the #30 have been noticeably slower than last season, so this may be a good sign for things to come. Also, points leader Alex Parker isn't getting enough credit for his season - his win at COTA earlier this year was his first win in the last 50 starts of his. And his average finish is a blinding 4.4. The Mediocre: Kyle Rudd finishes 2nd, and finally establishes some sense of normalcy despite only being 8th in points. However, his brilliant drive at Auto Club shows why he's a 3 time champion. Marco Montoya is 22nd in the standings, and having his worst season to date, standings wise thus far. However, Ganassi has looked slightly slower this season, and his teammates are 21st and 34th in points. The Ugly: Alice Peters has gone from 5th -> 15th in points after 2 DNFs in a row. Yikes. Jeb Warson's luck continues to suck. Crashes at Daytona and Bristol, and pit mistakes at Auto Club and Texas have really put a damper on this team, now 19th in points. Nate Beasley finished 28th on just pure speed at Auto Club. The #84 has only made it to 26th in points, and that team should definitely be concerned, considering they finished 15th last season.
