Welcome to the official beginning of the 2018 Formula 1 World Championship! Day one and two for testing will show us generally where the field will stack up in the upcoming season. Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull are the top 3, but behind for 4th is anyone's game. Force India will look to get there third straight 4th place finish in the constructors but the fast & unreliable HAAS plus the Renault factory team will be looking to change that. Two rookies will make their debut in Australia, Russian Sergey Sirotkin and Monaco's Charles Leclerc.
Track News:
FIA has announced that four tracks have been upgraded to FIA grade 1, Brno Circuit in Czechia, Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the USA, Kyalami Circuit in South Africa, and Sufers Paradise Street Circuit. FIA is currently looking to expand the calender to 23 races in the future but only added Indianapolis to this years schedule. Also added to this years schedule is Zandvoort in the Netherlands and Estoril in Portugal.

Day 1 Testing:
Hamilton set the fastest time early on. At first it was both Mercedes on top but then the two Ferrari had set faster laps still early in the session. With 15 minutes to go Raikkonen jumped to the top above Hamilton. Raikkonen will end up setting the fastest time of day 1, with Hamilton in second, Vettel in third, Verstappen, Bottas, Ricciardo, Sainz, Perez, Ocon, and Vandoorne round out the top 10.

Day 2 testing saw Ferrari jump on top again but this time they created a sandwich with both Mercedes in between. Reliability issues kept Leclerc and Stroll from setting faster laps, but 10th-18th covered by just under half a second. Sebastian Vettel leads day two of testing with Bottas and Hamilton in second and third, Raikkonen in fourth, both Red Bull drivers in fifth and sixth, HAAS with a great session finishing 7th with Magnussen, Perez in eighth, ninth was Alonso, and the other McLaren of Vandoorne rounds out the top 10.

After completing two days of testing Ferrari has been quickest, Mercedes has been second, and Red Bull third. Behind though it was a toss up, two great days for McLaren meanwhile Toro Rosso is a lot further back than they were expected to be. Both HAAS close to the top 10 along with every other team minus the aforementioned Toro Rosso, plus the Sauber and Williams cars.
