This is a thing I've done over a course of 4-5 years, on and off. The simulated 500's started in "1961" and have since progressed into "1982". The main idea of the simulation is to take some of the best drivers of the era and pit them against each other for only one race a year. Listed below are winners from the past five races. Also, the 1982 Indianapolis 500 will be broadcasted shortly in this thread. 1977- Pat Flaherty 1978- Jack Faddon 1979- Danny Sullivan 1980- Danny Onagis 1981- Dempsey Wilson

Lap 7/200: Danny Onagis (Blue and White car) Has assumed the lead and is starting to pull away from Kinser and Rasmussen.

Lap 15/200: Steve Kinser has regained the lead, but is followed closely by Danny Onagis. The top 5 cars are separated by less than a second.

Lap 21/200: Onagis has taken the lead back from Kinser, and the two cars run nose to tail. About a half-second behind them, Danny Sullivan has moved into third.
*Also* John Mahler was unable to start the race, and has been relegated to the garage for the entirety of the event. According to the #32 team, they have no plans to enter the race after missing the first twenty-or-so laps.

Lap 30/200: Danny Sullivan and Danny Onagis battle for the lead coming out of turn two. The drivers utilized the draft to pull away from the rest of the field.

Lap 36/200: Herm Johnson (28) is the highest running rookie in the field. He is currently running in eighth place.

Lap 38/200: Caution #1 Teammates Michael Chandler (55) and Phil Threshie (33) make contact coming out of turn one; both hit the wall hard, Threshie flipped twice before landing on four wheels. Chandler and Threshie were both able to drive away from the accident.

Lap 39/200: Last year's race winner, Dempsey Wilson, is knocked out of the race after a collision on pit road. Salt Walther (Blue Sunoco car), is also forced to take his car behind the wall.
