2007 PetMed Express 500News: Peter Hale announces the formation of Peter Hale Racing. The team will field the #54 car full time in 2008, using Toyotas. They will also have a technical alliance with Joe Gibbs Racing. Furniture Row Racing drops a bombshell - they will run Dodge's for the next season. Furthermore - rumors that Furniture Row would release driver Chris Burton have been quelled - the 2004 Series Champ resigns for 2 years past his original contract all the way to 2010. He will become the first driver to have a ride entering the new decade. Steve Perry signs another 2 year contract with Chad Little Incorporated until 2009. Luis Suarez (#19 JGR), and Alice Peters (#31, RCR), rumor has it, are both close to signing short contracts with their respective teams. The only big seats still open are the #84 at Hendrick, the #21 Wood Brothers entry, TEM's #10, as well as countless smaller teams looking for drivers and cars. Favorites: Hendrick Motorsports has won the last 7 races in a row. They will all be a factor here today. At Homestead - no driver has won here twice yet. Alex Parker, Peter Hale, Kyle Rudd, and Chris England are the usual suspects - each have a win at the track. Hannah Tanner is the dark horse pick - she has never won here but is on pole and has 3 wins on the season thus far. DNQs #4 - Rachel Bowyer Overview: Race #: 28/36 Distance: 54 Laps Polesitter: Hannah Tanner - Team: Hendrick Motorsports Lap 1: Hannah Tanner leads Jeb Warson (#22), and Kevin Grant (#27) into turn 1. Lap 4: Kyle Rudd and Alex Parker have jumped to 2nd and 3rd - Hendrick looking strong again. Lap 9: Luis Suarez (#19) and Andy Houston (#2) both having good runs in the top 5. Lap 16: Drivers seem to be cycling 2nd - Chris Burton (#78) and Steve Perry (#1) are currently the two drivers now chasing Hannah Tanner. Lap 26: Tanner is slowly pulling away from the field - Sarah Cooper and Kyle Rudd are chasing her at the moment. Lap 32: This package is interesting - the top 20 are within 3 seconds of each other, but the slower cars aren't able to make any passes - just stay in the draft. Lap 38: Female drivers 1-2-3: Tanner, Alice Peters (#31), and Sarah Cooper (#7). Lap 46: Tanner approaching 1 lapped car - finally. Lap 51: 4 to go - the gap is 0.5 seconds - Tanner has held this gap for all 50 laps pretty much. What a dominating performance thus far. Lap 54: It's been a breakout season for Hannah Tanner - and that continues here at Homestead. She'll score her 4th win of the year and 12th of her career. Dale Stremme Jr., Chris England, Steve Perry, and Marco Montoya round out the top 5. Results: Thanks for tuning in. Points will be updated tomorrow. Next Race: Kansas

Point StandingsRace 28: Homestead-MiamiStandings: The Good: - Hannah Tanner's (#24) win puts her 3rd in points - she'd be 8th in regular season points. - Andy Houston (#2) is 7th in points, and has had a great start to the Chase. - Marco Montoya (#42) scores his 2nd top 5 of the year and 4th top ten in 8 races. The Bad: - Anna Kelley (#6) follows up a 3rd at Darlington with a dismal 32nd here at Homestead. - Nicole Sadler (#37) scores a DNF with a mechanical failure late. - Landon Kaiser (#9) has had an awful start to the Chase - despite leading late in Darlington, his average finish in the last 2 races has been 27.0. If he didn't have to pit at Darlington, he'd be tied for 7th in points. Standings w/o Chase

2007 AT&T 500News: Welcome to Round 4 of the Chase here at Kansas. Dale Stremme Jr. leads by 8 points over Chris England and Hannah Tanner with 7 races remaining. Luis Suarez and Joe Gibbs Racing come to a one year contract agreement through 2008. Suarez was lined up for a multi-year deal until he missed the Chase, rumor says. Meanwhile, hot off the press - Kaitlyn Sauter, who currently does not have a ride for next season is getting help from Team Penske to find a seat for her, at any team and manufacturer. There are several competitive/semi-competitive seats that she could snag in the next few months. Favorites: Peter Hale has a win here and starts on pole. Luis Suarez has arguably had his most success here, with 2 wins and starts 4th. Dale Stremme Jr., Hannah Tanner, and Jeb Warson are all solid choices for a win. All of Hendrick Motorsports is a favorite - Hendrick drivers have won the last 8 races in a row. Dark horse pick is Anna Kelley, who has done well on several 1.5 mile tracks and could be a contender here today. DNQs 57 - Daisy Green 83 - Ty Majeski Overview: Race #: 29/36 Distance: 54 Laps Polesitter: Peter Hale - Team: Joe Gibbs Racing Lap 1: Green Flag is out - Hale leads the way down into turn one. Lap 14: The top two are battling hard - Clint Johnson in the #25 jumps past Hale for 2nd. Lap 18: Lead Change: Clint Johnson has now taken the lead of this race. Lap 28: Top 5 are within a second and a half - Clint Johnson, Tanner, Dale Stremme Jr., Hale, and rookie Carson Atkins are the top 5. Lap 33: Stremme Jr. and Atkins to 2nd and 3rd - past Tanner. Lap 35: Ryan Garner breaks into the top 10, passing Andy Houston. Lap 38: Lead Change: Heavy Lapped traffic slows the #25 - Dale Stremme Jr. takes the lead, Carson takes over second. Lap 39: Lead Change: More lapped traffic - Carson Atkins takes the lead from Stremme Jr. Lap 41: Lead Change: Dale Stremme Jr. rallies back to take the lead. Point StandingsRace 29: KansasStandings: The Good: - Carson Atkins scores his first career win. With this, he jumps into 13th - the highest non-Chaser spot. - Hannah Tanner would be much further back in full-season points but thanks to the Chase she's in 2nd. - Clint Johnson has now started the Chase with 3 straight top 10's, including a win. The Bad: - Chad Little Jr. has hit a bit of a cold streak and is mired back in 11th after only 3 Chase races. - Grant Dolson has finished outside the top 20 in 6 of the last 7 races - talk about lack of momentum. - Sarah Cooper is only 1 of 3 Chase drivers to finish outside the top 10 this week, and 1 of 2 to finish outside the top 20. Not good stuff for the #7 team. Standings w/o Chase:

Silly Season Discussion
Rides Available: It's that time of the year where Silly Season is ramping up. There are still some big names and rides left for the taking. With that said - I'll be analyzing the rides and predicting how likely it is that a driver will stay there/who will replace them. Keep in mind I usually have three to four candidates per ride and there are times where the outcome of a race drastically changes who becomes the top contender for a ride. With that said, let's start biggest and go down. #84 - Nate Beasley - Hendrick Motorsports: Beasley has been the weakest link at Hendrick, but considering all 4 drivers above him have 10+ wins in their careers, he can be excused a little. While the #84 has been streaky, Beasley is only a second-year driver (and a Hendrick Developmental Driver, who currently has the most wins in the Grand National Series - the feeder series). Considering all of this, it'll be likely he comes back for another year. #31 - Alice Peters - Richard Childress Racing : Ever since her debut in mid-2000, Alice Peters has been one of the leading drivers at RCR, with 5 wins and playoff appearances from 2001-2006 straight. Despite a low year, I expect her to re-sign. Other drivers who could replace her include RCR's lead Grand National driver, Matt Smith, as well as James Davidson. #10 - James Davidson - TriStar-Evernham Motorsports: Easily the most fought over seat at the moment. Davidson has been well off the pace this year, and if it weren't for his Dover win early this year, it would be obvious that someone would replace him. It's 50-50 on whether he stays, performance through the last 6-7 races will dictate it. Alice Peters, Allison Coyne, or Paige Stone and Tony Irwin Jr. (TEM's Grand National drivers), and even Landon Amick have all been linked to the seat. #30 - Austin Bell - Staglo Brothers Racing: Staglo/Bell have been together since 2004 but have achieved very little. With stagnating performance, the team would like to poach one of the Grand National drivers away from a larger team. If Bell leaves - RCR's Miles Anderson or Tony Irwin Jr. (TriStar) could be potential replacements. Sean Kroger (Penske) would also be good. #36 and #21 - Front Row and Wood Brothers: These will likely be part-time. Sean Kroger/Kaitlyn Sauter for Wood Brothers? Mark Donaque returning for Talladega/Daytona? #77? - Aaron Casanova? - EagleOne Racing?: EagleOne is getting a new investor. Rumour is that it's a Hendrick driver. This means either Casanova or Alexis Spears will be the beneficiary of this ride. We'll see who buys it. #54 - Joe Gibbs Racing Affiliate?: Joe Gibbs rumor has it, also has a driver who has bought a team. #16 - Kaulig Racing: Kaulig announced Texaco-Havoline as a sponsor for 2008, and that they'll be racing in multiple series' (that could mean cup racing for Kaulig, perhaps). If it's full-time (which I doubt with the already filled-up roster), Alice Peters would be the perfect driver for them. #18/80/81 - Caitlyn Smith/Logan Wintergreen/Blake McCready - The JGR part-time car will likely have a few or all these drivers running at some point. #32 - Landon Amick - GoFAS Racing: Landon Amick has been solid, but he's also been with 4 teams in 4 years, so he could get bumped. Having GoFAS align with Penske and choose Sean Kroger as their driver would do wonders - especially considering Kroger's great performance. Allison Coyne is another choice. 60-40 on whether Amick stays or not. #28 - ? - Chad Little Incorporated: Chad Little Inc. has utilized a part-time car in the past. With Nick Rodriguez being dropped at Allison Coyne Racing, Rodriguez could come back to the team where he won 13 races with and finish out there. Developmental drivers such as Ricky Benton or Trevor Roberts could also be contendors. Teams that still don't have any confirmed drivers: Paroday Racing (#4 and #72) Majeski Motorsports (#23 and #83) Stienhausser Racing (#55 and #87) Brewco Motorsports (#37) - Josh Berry(?) With just seven races and an off-season to go, the field for the 2008 Season is slowly taking shape.

2007 Food City 500
News: Round 4 of the Chase (Bristol) - and silly season continues. Alice Peters and RCR, after months of negotiation, have come to a one-year extension. Peters, who has earned 5 wins with the team, will drive the #31 into the 2008 season - her 9th year with RCR. Meanwhile, Team Penske announced earlier that developmental driver Sean Kroger will drive part-time next year for the team after impressive performances in the Cup Series and the Grand National Division. Favorites: Peter Hale won this race last time - he looks to come from 28th on the grid to score his 4th win of the year. Hannah Tanner starts on pole - ironically, at the same track she dominated at last spring before blowing an engine. Lots of underdogs and guys outside the Chase have good starting spots - Luis Suarez, Nate Beasley, Stephanie Dillon, and Erin Keller all start in the top 10. Dark horse pick is Carson Atkins, looking for back-to-back wins. DNQs: 56 - Carlos Contreros Overview: Race #: 30/36 Distance: 100 Laps Polesitter: Hannah Tanner - Hendrick Motorsports Lap 1: Green Flag - Hannah Tanner takes the flag, but Luis Suarez (#19) takes the lead on the outside lane. Lap 1: Steve Perry pulls it into the garage at the start of the lap. Ignition problems for the Chad Little Inc. driver. Lap 5: Jeb Warson - one of the Chase contenders is down pit road! He does not DNF though, comes back out 2 laps down, in 41st. Lap 20: Top 3 - Luis Suarez, Nate Beasley, Stephanie Dillon (19, 84, 3). Dillon having a phenomenal run thus far. Lap 24: Alex Parker has come from 16th to 4th in 24 laps. He could be the strongest car in the field right now. Lap 26: Another Chase contender in trouble - its Sarah Cooper with a mechanical problem! She will go behind the wall. Lap 31: And another one! And it's Peter Hale with an engine problem! The man running 5th in points is out. Lap 34: Lead Change: Nate Beasley passes Luis Suarez off turn 4. Parker and Step. Dillon fighting for 3rd behind them. Lap 40: Lead Change: Luis Suarez uses lap traffic to repass Beasley. Stephanie Dillon jumps to P2. Lap 42: Lead Change: Landon Kaiser has come from nowhere to take the lead. Ross Evertson for Front Row jumps from 6th to 2nd in the lapped traffic. Lap 50: Lead Change: Ross Evertson uses the lapped car as a pick to pass Landon Kaiser. Kaiser and teammate Carson Atkins are stuck behind slower cars on the low lane. Lap 55: Lead Change: It's taken 55 laps for Hannah Tanner to find her way back to the lead. She brings teammate Alex Parker to 2nd, with Evertson in 3rd. Lap 61: Caution: Denny Jennings is turned by Ross Evertson. Marco Montoya hits Jennings and suffers damage. Lap 68: Green Flag: Green is out - its a Hendrick 1-2-3 with Tanner, Parker, and Clint Johnson (5, 24, 25) the top 3. Lap 76: Caution: Nicole Sadler's car is turned by Grant Dolson. Lap 82: Green Flag: Top 3 remain the same - Dale Stremme Jr. is now 4th. Lap 88: Ross Evertson and Alice Peters have sliced their way into the top 5. Lap 93: The top two of Tanner and Parker are pulling away from the field. Lap 97: Caution: A sizable wreck - both the Paroday Racing cars (4 and 72) are involved, as is last weeks winner Carson Atkins in the #98. Chad Little Jr. (#88, another Chase contender), has damage as well. Kevin Grant and Nick Rodriguez (27 and 16) also have damage. Lap 100: Under the pace car - Hannah Tanner's breakout season continues. Victory #5 on the season for her, putting her at 13 career victories, and in a 4 way tie for 7th on the all-time win list. Teammates Parker and Johnson complete the Hendrick 1-2-3. Alice Peters and Dale Stremme Jr. round out the top 5. Shoutout to Alan Jones who finishes 6th place in his 2nd career start for EagleOne Racing - who secure their first ever top 10 finish. Results: Thanks for tuning in. Standings will be updated soon. Next Race: Charlotte Roval

Point StandingsAfter Race 30: BristolThe Good: - The Battle for the championship is heating up. Dale Stremme Jr. is only three points ahead of Hannah Tanner in points. Both have been racing since the series' inception in 2000, and either driver has yet to score a title. - Andy Houston has lit up in the playoffs and is now in 6th in points. - Hendrick Motorsports now has won 9 times in the last 10 races, with only Carson Atkins being the only driver outside that team in that span to have won. The Bad: - 7 Chase drivers finished outside the top 20. For a Chase that had been relatively DNF free thus far, Bristol shook up the running order dramatically. - Chad Little Jr., despite a good run at Darlington to start the Chase has had three straight finishes of 24th or worse. - Carson Atkins's stellar run was spoiled by a crash with just 2 to go, dropping him out of the coveted 13th place points spot. 2007 Tums 312News: We're here at the Charlotte Roval for the 5th race of the Chase and the 31st race in the 2007 Season. Drama already unfolding here as 2001 Series Champion, Alex Parker, has announced the formation of a new team for the 2008 season - Alex Parker Incorporated. The team buys out EagleOne Racing, and is rumored to be in talks to form an alliance with Hendrick Motorsports. The driver is not confirmed, but Aaron Casanova, a Hendrick driver in the lower series, is favored for the seat. The number will be 77. Meanwhile, Richard Petty Enterprises will return to a 2 car operation. 2nd tier driver Amanda Ward will pilot the new #44 machine with several sponsors such as Adidas coming aboard for the 2008 season. She attempted to make her debut here, but failed to make the show due to a crash in qualifying. Meanwhile, Logan Wintergreen will run a race for Dodge in the #18 Bobby Hamilton Racing entry. 7 drivers failed to make the field for the race - the highest number on record this season thus far. Favorites: Alex Parker starts on pole here today and has been brilliant at the road courses. Suarez in 3rd is also looking good for his first win of the year. Scott Gaines, making his 3rd start of the year starts 5th alongside Ganassi teammate Marco Montoya. The two of them will be contenders for sure. Dark horse pick is Carson Atkins who starts 9th, and could be a contender for a victory here, as he is on quite the hot streak. DNQ's: 4 - Rachel Bowyer 14 - Ricky Benton 37 - Josh Berry 44 - Amanda Ward 83 - Ty Majeski 91 - Tony Irwin Jr. 97 - Tanner Berryhill Overview: Race #: 31/36 Distance: 22 Laps Polesitter: Alex Parker - Hendrick Motorsports Lap 1: Green Flag! Parker jumps out to the front and sets sail. Lap 2: Parker-Hale-Warson-Suarez, top 4 gap the field. Meanwhile - trouble on pit road! Clint Johnson, 4th in points, has a lose wheel. Lap 5: Green Flag: Parker leads the field around. Lap 6: Kyle Rudd, 9th in points, is coming down pit road with a lose wheel. Hendrick Motorsports must be shaking their heads right now. Lap 8: Anna Kelley (#6) stalls in the bus stop. She is pushed back to the pits. No caution. Lap 9: Chris Burton for Furniture Row pits. Not sure what the issue is, but he is back on track. Grant Dolson (JTG) is in the pits too. Meanwhile, Alex Parker has a 4 second lead. Lap 13: And just when we thought we had settled into the race - Luis Suarez in the #19, running 4th blows an engine! He will pull the car into the pits. Lap 17: Alex Parker now has 8 seconds over Peter Hale for the race lead. Parker is on rails today. Lap 20: After several laps, Chris England has pushed his JGR Toyota up to 4th, past Scott Gaines. They are both a whopping 17 seconds behind Parker. Lap 22: In what might the most dominate performance of the year, Alex Parker slaughters the field, winning by nearly 10 seconds. Peter Hale and Jeb Warson finish 2nd and 3rd, while Chris England and Scott Gaines round off the top 5. Thanks for tuning in. Standings will be updated soon. Next race: Talladega
