Point Standings & News:After Race 31: Charlotte RovalAFTER THE FLAG: Huge breaking news here after tech inspection! Alex Parker's engine was found to be modified to provide him with an unfair advantage. The win has been stripped away and Peter Hale for Joe Gibbs Racing has won at the Charlotte Roval. Alex Parker will be disqualified from the event and finish 42nd. He will earn points for finishing 42nd, and not be credited with the victory. Peter Hale earns his 4th win of the year. Standings: The Good: - Hale's surprise win jumps him to 5th in points, with a chance for the title now in sight. - Dale Stremme Jr. avoided the chaos to quietly finish 8th and extend his points lead. - Marco Montoya's top 10 here marks the 4th time he has done so in the last 8 races. The Bad: - Alex Parker's DSQ essentially eliminates him from championship contention unless he manages to win the next 5 races and get extraordinarily lucky. - Clint Johnson's 35th now puts him a race behind in the championship with time running out. - Luis Suarez was on pace for a top 5, but bad luck means he ends up 34th, and further back in the championship.
