Race #6 - NAPACARD 200
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series made their sixth stop of 1997 at the Evergreen Speedway, in Monroe, Washington, for the NAPACARD 200.
Stacy Compton led the field to the green flag but would not even lead the first two turns as Jack Sprague passed him on the high side to lead the first lap. Homestead-Miami winner, Kenny Irwin Jr., would work his way past Sprague to lead the third lap and would began to pull himself away from the field while drivers fought for position all day long. Several big wrecks in the early half of the race would take out favorites like Ron Hornaday Jr., Jack Sprague, Joe Ruttman and Jimmy Hensley.
While leading, Kenny Irwin Jr. was collected in one of the wrecks, getting damage as he would give up the lead briefly to Kenny Allen, and would lead for nearly twenty more laps before Tobey Butler took the lead shortly before the half-way point. Once in the lead, Butler showed the world why he was picked to drive for Ken Schrader, never being passed for the lead and scoring his first win of 1997 and his first in his career.
Other Noticeables: Tobey Butler won his 1st race of the year, Butler scored his 1st career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win in his 31st start, Butler led 1 time for 115 laps, including the final 115 laps, Rich Bickle, who finished 3rd, kept his points lead, leading Jack Sprague by 79 points

Race #7 - Western Auto / Parts America 200
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series made their seventh stop of 1997 at the I-70 Speedway, in Odessa, Missouri, for the Western Auto / Parts America 200.
Tony Raines led the field to the green flag and would lead his first ever laps in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series before being passed by Butch Miller and the two would swap the lead before Tony Roper would take over after not making a pitstop for an early caution. The first half of the way was plagued by cautions and wrecks as six drivers would be knocked out before the halfway point.
Championship contender Rich Bickle saw his closest challenger, Jack Sprague, fall out early due to a wreck and would lead several laps to improve on his lead, Chuck Bown, driving for Roush Racing, look on his way to scoring the team's second victory of the year but his truck began to fade just after halfway allowing Jimmy Hensley to drive on by and pull away to his first win in nearly a year.

Race #8 - Pennzoil Discount Center 200
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series made their eighth stop of 1997 at the New Hampshire International Speedway, in Loudon, New Hampshire, for the Pennzoil Discount Center 200.
Rick Carelli led the field to the green flag and would lead for the first 15 circuits before losing the lead after pitting and handing the lead over to Boris Said. Unlike the week before at I-70, mechanical issues would plague the race as a total of nine drivers would retire due to problems with their trucks, while only two would drop out due to racing accidents. Boris Said was the dominate driver of the day, leading almost half of the event but as the laps counted down the familiar green painted truck of Jack Sprague was picking up spots and would easily pass Said on the inside as Sprague would then pull away and score the win, becoming the first two time winner in 1997.
Other Noticeables: Jack Sprague won his 2nd race of the year, Sprague scored his 2nd career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win and his first since Phoenix 5 races ago, Sprague led 1 time for 28 laps, including the final 28 laps, Eric Norris, son of legendary Chuck Norris, made his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut as he kept his truck clean all day to finish 25th, Rich Bickle, who finished 11th, kept his points lead, leading Jack Sprague by 114 points

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series made their ninth stop of 1997 at the Texas Motor Speedway, in Fort Worth, Texas, for the inaugural Pronto Auto Parts 400K.
Dave Rezendes led the field to the green flag but it was Kenny Irwin Jr. who would lead the first 30 laps as cautions wouldn't be a major thing which was a surprise for the first ever event at the track. Rich Bickle suffered mechanical later in the event and his once big lead would shrink down to less then 50. The race would be highly contested as drivers for the most part showed each other space and respect while learning about the track would react to the cool day. Kenny Irwin Jr. would completely dominate the day, leading 84 of the 167 laps, however he was on a different fuel mileage then other drivers and was forced to pit with 6 laps to go allowing Chuck Bown to drive on uncontested to the win.
