The field has finished qualifying for the 9th race of the season the Spirit of '79 at the Catamount Stadium.
Jamie Aube won the pole, with a time of 18.368 seconds, beating Tom Rosati by 0.013 seconds.

Race #9 - Spirit of '79
The NASCAR North Tour Series made their 9th stop of 1979 in Milton, Vermont at the Catamount Stadium, for the Spirit of '79.
Jamie Aube led the field to the green but it would be Tom Rosati who would lead the first lap but Jamie Aube would come back for revenge and took the lead back on Lap 2 and from that point on the race was a typical Catamount race as a lack of lead changes and battles of position resulted in a lackluster race. Despite a caution coming out just after halfway, Aube would be able to hold off Rosati and Del Thompson to score his second career win of the season.
Other Noticeables: Jamie Aube scored his 2nd win of the year, Aube led 1 time for 78 laps, which were the final 78 laps, It was the 2nd win of his career in the NASCAR North Tour Series and his first since Autodrome de Laval; 3 races ago, Dave Dion(7th) and Joe Myers(10th) made their NASCAR North Tour Series debuts, Beaver Dragon, who finished 22nd, kept his points lead, leading Hector Leclair by 3 points

Dan Perez won the pole, with a time of 21.887 seconds, beating Dick McCabe by 0.031 seconds.

Race #10 - Firecracker 44
The NASCAR North Tour Series made their 10th stop of 1979 in Plattsburgh, New York at the Plattsburgh International Raceway, for the Firecracker 44.
Dan Perez led the field to the green and would lead the first two laps before Dick McCabe would make a pass for the lead and began to pull away as he built up a lead of over two seconds by lap 20. However moving up from his fifth starting spot, Tom Rosati had moved into second and in a span of ten laps, Rosati had passed McCabe and he would hold on for the remaining fourteen laps to score the win.
